At 16, he left school with no qualifications and became drawn into the Manchester drugs scene, taking cannabis, amphetamine and LSD. This lead to a life of heroin addiction and drug dealing. After being dependent on heroin for 14 year and spending a number of terms in prison, Barry had what he describes as "an encounter with God", which resulted in his life being totally transformed.

Our speaker will be Paul Harrigan from Warrington. Paul was born into a religious family and grew up in the sectarian province of N.Ireland at the height of the troubles. Being religious, he never questioned that it was necessary to do any more with regard to God, believing that going to church on Sunday, and living as best he could, would be enough. However, he now has a testimony to share that being a Christian is much much more than being religious.
