Viv Penfold

Viv was born in St Albans, where he lived for his football.  However, he had his dream of becoming a professional footballer shattered when a schoolboy accident with a catapult took out one of his eyes.  A career change was needed so he trained to become a teacher, at Alsager where he met and married his young wife, Jean.

Viv was a keen and talented singer and would play the nightclub circuit, earning good money, which led to a heavy drinking and smoking habit.  During this time he rose to the position of Adult Education Principal.  He was pleased with this, but felt that there was an emptiness inside him which he could not fill.

In 1983, Viv became a Christian, accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour.  In 1986 he resigned his post and ventured out into full-time evangelism and mission work.  Come and listen to a wonderful singer with a fantastic true-life story.

2-course meal, £12.50 per head, payable on the night.
